Dejected African Star calmed

Emmanuel Adebayor

English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspurs has moved to reassure Togo forward Emanuel Adebayor that he is in its plans.

Assistant coach Steffen Freund revealed to sportinglife.com that Adebayor will make the team once the rough patch is over since he is talented and focused.

Injured

- If you're not playing and you're injured then of course you are not happy. Adebayor is really sick but hopefully he will be back in time. He is one of the best strikers in the Premier League. We are happy to have him back here.

The striker shone last season when under a loan spell from Manchester City but his star has dwindled into this season despite signing a permanent deal at the London club.

This has been caused partly by a nagging hamstring injury that has left Jermain Defoe as the main striker for the side and has not disappointed netting four times both for club and country this season.

Tottenham is placed fourth on the standings. Adebayor has however made four appearances this season and has not scored a goal for the side.

Tottenham will face Norwich City in a Capital One tie on Wednesday.
