The Nile Crocodiles of Sudan kept their patience to emerge as the third best team at the CECAFA competition at the hosts Tanzania’s expense.
Evenly balanced
In an evenly balanced game which both teams had opportunities to score, it was Sudan who left with happy faces after Tanzania had to do with jeering from their own fans as substitute Eldin Shaikh’s 84th minute goal condemned them to defeat at the same venue they won last year’s tournament.
Scored from 20 yards
Eldin, who came in as a substitute in the 70th minute for the injured Amir Suleiman, collected a pass from the midfield and kept his composure to fire from 20 yards for the only goal of the game.
As a result of their win, Sudan, who will be playing in the African Cup of Nations in January fly home with the prize money of 10,000 US Dollars.
