Cranes make special arrangements ahead of key clash

Denis Guma
The Uganda Cranes are making special arrangements for their out of work players ahead of the return AFCON 2013 clash with Zambia.

Having lost 1-0 in Ndola over the weekend, the Cranes will have to get a convincing win in Kampala in October to cement a place at the continental showpiece event.

According to the New Vision, in a bid to remain fit for the important match, a host of Cranes players whose club seasons are yet to start will train with local clubs.

However, some like striker Brian Umony might even consider making their moves permanent with Kampala City Council (KCC) planning to lure back their 2007 top scorer back home. The Vietnam-based forward, is on holiday in Kampala recovering from surgery.

Stay fit and active

His Vietnam-based colleagues Godfrey Kizito and Moses Oloya are also in the country and will not be in action until their season starts in November.

Kizito and Oloya will train with Viper and BIDCO football clubs respectively. Mike Sserumagga who is also currently club less will train with Viper football club.

- The idea is to keep them fit until their seasons start, Cranes media officer Katende Malibu stated to the Ugandan Daily.
