Cranes enjoying Nairobi stay

The Uganda Cranes are enjoying their stay in Kenya as they prepare for their crucial Africa cup of nations qualifier with Angola over the weekend.

Uganda were penned in for a training camp in Congo but a last minute change by the Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) saw them make an unlikely detour in the country.

They are currently training at the Nyayo national stadium and have set up shop at The Mvuli Hotel which is just opposite the stadium, a smart choice, considering the travel difficulties that can be experienced in the Kenyan capital city.

Coach Bobby Williamson and midfielder Musa Mudde have already welcomed their stay in the country  and now the Cranes team manager Crispus Muyinda has described their stay in the country as great.

Settled

-The atmosphere is wonderful, the hotel is good and we are well settled. The players are enjoying their stay here.

-We are just next to the stadium which makes it easy for us. Hopefully we will bear the fruits of our good stay, he told Futaa.com.

The Ugandans leave for Angola on Friday 2 September 2011, where they need just one point to qualify for their first AFCON championships in three decades. Their last appearance was in 1978.
