What was known as Congo JMJ United in the 2012
division one season is no more.
The end to the marriage of convenience between the former premier league side Congo United, a Mombasa based side and the Nairobi based JMJ Academy has been confirmed by both parties to futaa.com.
-There is no more Congo JMJ United. We had a one year partnership that ended at the close of the season, said Shaban Abdalla, a youth Coach at JMJ Academy
-Congo is now on its own and JMJ Academy a separate entity. Congo will retain the Division one slot while JMJ will concentrate being an Academy

Evans Mzungu, the Congo United Chairman had this to say;
-The partnership ended and now we are fully based in Mombasa
The partnership came about as and cash strapped Congo United had a slot in the second tier league. Moneyed JMJ Academy who had been looking out at being in the top flight came about and bankrolled the relegated side for the season.
Either side provide an equal number of players for the season. Due to the partnership, the side played its home games both in Mombasa and Nairobi based on the opponent.
At the close of the season, Congo JMJ United was placed 11th in the 20-team log with 50 points from 37 games.
