Rangers head coach Ezekiel Sacchi Akwana has been sacked after the team’s disappointing run of performances in the Kenyan Premier League.
Akwana together with his deputy Frank Furo and co-trainer Benson Matindi have been relieved of their duties with immediate effect.
The trio joined Rangers technical bench in January 2012.
Revealing to futaa.com, Chairman Yobesh Ongeri, said that the former Sofapaka tactician failed to deliver results; losing three matches, one win and registering unnecessary four draws.
-After a series of an unimpressive performance, we have been forced to take a decision.
-Earlier on, we had agreed with him (Akwana) to win at least three matches out of five, but we’ve managed to win only one match out of eight.
-Even if you look at the way we have been playing in the previous matches, it’s suspicious.
-However, it’s his wish as he had wanted to resign. We want to transform the team into a formidable side, said Ongeri.
Rangers are currently ranked second from the bottom with seven points.
