City Stars humiliate Tanzanian Champions

City Stars

Kenya Premier League Nairobi City Stars came from one goal down to hand Tanzanian Premier League Champions Simba SC a 3-1 beating, in a match played at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

In the match Simba picked a goal in the eighth minute, which they defended to half-time.

Into the second half, City Stars’ head Coach Gideon Ochieng came up with a winning strategy that saw Duncan Owiti, Boniface Onyango and Bruno Sserunkuma find the back of Simba’s net in the 50th, 68th and 81st minutes, respectively, to leave Simba a dismayed side.

Post-match

After the match, Coach Ochieng could not hide his joy as he went on to heap praise on his players for a great show.

-Coming from a goal down to beat a team considered regional giant the way we did was impressive,  Ochieng told Futaa.com.

-I am very pleased with my players as they showed that we are gradually shaping out to be a formidable side.

City Stars, currently ranked 13th in the KPL, are set to play Ulinzi Stars on Sunday 12 August.
