Tusker Premier League (TPL) side Nairobi City Stars is bracing itself for a longer time without one of the team’s key players, Francis Akang’o after the defender’s scan on his shins revealed fractures.

The former Gor Mahia defender had a scan done at the Aga Khan Hospital following persistent pain and it afterwards emerged that both the left and right shins had cracks and he says he will have to wait on the team doctor’s advice on the next step.
-I was so shocked to learn that I have been playing while carrying such a serious injury, he told futaa.com.
Out for some time
-I went to have it checked since the pain didn’t seem to relent and I got a very big surprise; it is so shocking and I am set to meet the doctor so that he can advise on the way forward but I am sure I will be out for some time, he added.
City Stars is in 13th place on the 16 team log, just three points above the relegation region.
