Thika United midfielder Francis Chege has described 2012 as the worst year of his career and life.
Chege suffered a knee injury during his side’s 1-1 draw against Western Stima in March, ruling him out for the rest of the season.
Recovery path
However, in an interview with futaa.com, the Kenya U20 midfielder said that he is on a recovery path and he’s likely to resume training early next year.
-I play football with passion and it’s been really sad to be out the whole season. It’s the worst year in my football career and I will never forget it.
-But, the good thing is that I am responding well to treatment and I am almost back to full recovery.
-I am still waiting for the doctor’s permission before I resume training. But, I don’t want to rush back into action and the earliest I can start training is in January (2013), said Chege.
With four matches to go, Thika are placed fifth on the pile and are scheduled to clash against Stima, on Saturday 20 October, at Thika Municipal Stadium.
