Scottish Premier League (SPL) champions Celtic are set to better Kenyan international midfielder Victor Wanyama’s terms at the club after recently offering Charlie Mulgrew, Adam Matthews and James Forrest new deals.
Key member
The midfielder has been a key member in the team, attracting offers from teams in the Barclays Premier League and his coach Neil Lennon confirmed the club will meet his representatives next week to negotiate terms.
-We are hoping to meet his representative again next week, Lennon told bbc.co.uk.
Reward
-He has been offered a new contract. We don't have to offer him a new contract, but we feel it is a reward for performances he has put in since he came in the door. Whether his agent feels it is sufficient, that's what negotiations are all about.
-Hopefully we can come to a conclusion about that as well.
Wanyama’s current deal at the club still has two years to run.
