On Saturday 25, the day Kenya’s Harambee Stars will be playing the Jamaican Reggae Boys in a friendly match, Scottish Premier League Champions Celtic FC will be taking on Iverness Caley in a league match.
Kenya’s head Coach James Nandwa has Victor Wanyama as one of the most dependable players on the squad but his club coach Neil Lennon in not keen on releasing him.
According to the eveningtimes.co.uk, Football Kenya Federation has already received confirmation from Wanyama to take part in the friendly, and are now awaiting clearance from Celtic.
The evening times goes on to hint that it would be strenuous for the Kenyan Star to travel for the match and return in time for their Champions League second leg match against Helsingborgs.
The friendly is set for play in Connecticut, starting 1900hrs, [0200hrs 26 August, Kenyan time]
