The Somali Under17 team will not go any further than the second round of CAF U-17 Championships after the regional governing body CAF disqualified them.
According to cafonline.com, the team failed to take part in the compulsory age eligibility check by the MRI apparatus (Magnetic Resonance Imaging).
This forced the Confederation of African Football (CAF)'s executive committee to cancel their participation despite beating neighbors Sudan to proceed to the second round.
CAF had extended the deadline to 4th October 2012 but the team did not give any MRI tests results forcing CAF to disqualify Somalia handing Sudan easy return to the competition.
Sudan will now face Algeria in the second round starting. The first leg will be on 19th, 20th, 21st October 2012 while the second leg shall take place on 2nd, 3rd, 4th November 2012.
