Bwana laments cash prize for Top 8 winner

George Bwana

Gor Mahia Secretary General George Bwana has urged the organizers of the annual Kenyan Premier League Top 8 Tournament to improve the reward package for the winners.

According to the official, the gate collections in the tourney surpass the Ksh 1M cash prize money for the winner which he termed as paltry sum bear.

Improved reward

-Actually what participating clubs are getting is peanuts.

-For instance, when two clubs like AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia meet definitely the organizers will reap millions of shillings.

-We are planning to discuss with the organizers to at least increase the prize money to motivate the teams, Bwana told futaa.com.

The tournament which started last season, saw Ulinzi Stars walk away with a prize money after beating Western Stima 2-1 in the finals.
