Butere to face Muslim in the final after replay

After launching a successful appeal against Shiatsala Secondary School for fielding an ineligible player in the yesterday’s semi-final of the on-going Mumias Regional Secondary School Games, Butere Boys had a final laugh in Sunday’s morning replay beating Shiatsala 5-4 via post-match penalties after a 1-1 draw in the regular time.

Julius Obwamu scored the opener for Butere in the 13^th minute before gifting Shiatsala an own goal in the second half, leading the match to the spot-kicks.

Mouth-watering final 

Following the win, Butere will now meet their Pool A opponents Mumias Muslim Boys in a what is expected to be a thrilling final later in the day at Mumias Sports Complex.

In the preliminaries, the two sides shared the spoils after the match ended in a 1-1 draw.

Butere Girls are currently leading 2-0 against Rehema Academy in the girls’ final.
