Group rivals Namibia have lodged an appeal with the Confederation of African Football [CAF] claiming that the Burkinabes fielded an ineligible player in their head-to-head matches.
ruling’s impact
If CAF rules that Cameroon-born Herve Zengue was not eligible, Burkina Faso's could lose their place at the finals to Namibia.
The appeal by the Namibian Football Association [NFA] will be ruled on by CAF on Tuesday 15 November.
NFA has promised to take the matter to the court of Arbitration should CAF rule in Burkina Faso’s favour.
