Burkinabes worried of being yanked out of Nations Cup

Gabon

Burkina Faso winger Jonathan Pitroipa says that says that the uncertainty of his country playing in the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations is taking a toll on the players.

-When you are waiting for a decision, it destabilises you a little, he told BBCSport

-But the federation and the minister have given us confidence that they can handle the problem - and that everything is going to be sorted before the Nations Cup

Group rivals Namibia have lodged an appeal with the Confederation of African Football [CAF] claiming that the Burkinabes fielded an ineligible player in their head-to-head matches.

ruling’s impact

If CAF rules that Cameroon-born Herve Zengue was not eligible, Burkina Faso's could lose their place at the finals to Namibia.

The appeal by the Namibian Football Association [NFA] will be ruled on by CAF on Tuesday 15 November.

NFA has promised to take the matter to the court of Arbitration should CAF rule in Burkina Faso’s favour.
