Football Kenya Federation (FKF) South Coast Branch Secretary Evans Mwachia is demanding respect from the FKF National office in regard to football matches held within its area of jurisdiction.

Internal memo

Mwachia was referring to a friendly match held at KPA Mbaraki Sports Club between hosts Bandari and AFC Leopards where the national office authorized an imported referee from Nairobi to officiate the match.

-You can’t sanction a friendly match in the Branch without informing us. We are in charge of football matters in this region. We shall not accept referees coming for friendly matches from outside the region’ read an internal memo by Mwachia.

Did not go down well

The memo was copied to FKF National Chairman Sam Nyamweya, Coast NEC Member Hussein Terry and South Coast Branch Chairman Hamisi Mwayoyo among others.

FKF National office organized the friendly match between AFC Leopards and Bandari and authorized Nairobi based referee James Kagera to officiate as the centre referee, a decision that did not go down well with the Branch.

To add salt to injury, the Branch was denied its 20% share of gate collection with AFC Leopards who manned the gates saying they will sort out the matter with FKF Secretary General Omondi Aduda back in Nairobi.
