Blackberry one of 100 players to look out for in 2011

Gor Mahia player George Blackberry Odhiambo, on a the brink of signing up for Denmark’s Randers FC, has been named as one of the 100 most promising talents to look out for in 2011 according to a list posted on goal.com.

Blackberry was a revelation for Gor

The 2009 New Player of the Year and 2010 Player of the Year during the year ending Footballer of the Year Awards (FOYA) as well as most promising player of the Year during Sports of the Year Awards (SOYA) in 2009 is the only Kenyan appearing in the list.

Blackberry was a revelation for Gor in just his first season in 2009 where he ended up with nine goals at the close of the season.

‘surpass the levels of Didier Drogba’

The list includes Ivorian U20 new find Kipré Tchétché Hermann who was outstanding during the CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup played in Tanzania from late November 2010.

Kipré who recently signed up for Al Hilal of Sudan has been touted as able to ‘surpass the levels of Didier Drogba’.

Ghana’s ‘latest sensation’ Frank Acheampong as well as Switzerland’s striker Ben Khalifa of VfL Wolfsburg make up the list.
