Beerschot in season climax

Belgian pro- League side Germinal Beerschot host Kortrijk in their last post regular Play off II game of the 2010-11 League season.

Both sides will definitely have their last games as they have sauntered out of contention for playoff honors. Successive losses for the two teams mean that with just one game of the playoffs left they are mathematically unable to catch the top two Zulte- Wagerem and Westerloo.

Beerschot, who started the post season campaign well, lost their way after they could only draw with Westerloo at home, three weeks ago and have failed to find the back of the net since. The last man to score for the Antwerp club was Victor Mugubi, who missed the loss to Zulte.

Last game?

Mugubi has recently been linked with a number of clubs, with several reports claiming that he is considering his future at Beerschot.

He has been one of the more consistent performers for Germinal, having played in all their 2010-11 games barring the last one at Zulte. He has been linked with a move to the English Premier league, with four clubs linked with his services.

Beerschot finished the 201-11 Regular season in 13th position in the 16 team league. As a result they qualified for the second tier playoffs which pits team that finished between seventh and 14th place.
