Prolific Sofapaka striker John Barry Baraza has been tipped the most likely to finish the current Kenyan Premier League (KPL) campaign as top scorer.
The striker is no stranger to the recognition at Sofapaka as he was the leading scorer in 2009 as the team won the title and also in 2010 as they finished fourth and his consistency in the current season makes former Kenyan international Boniface Ambani admit he could be in line for another award.
Baraza has scored 14 times already this season in 17 matches and the former AFC Leopards striker who had promised to reward the player who scores 20 goals this season says Baraza has shown all the signs to claim his prize.
-I don’t think anyone will beat Barry to the golden boot this time. His consistency is just amazing, he makes scoring look so easy and at 14 goals already and with about a similar number of games to play, I think he will reach the 20 goal mark for my award as promised, Ambani told futaa.com.
Baraza leads the scorers chart followed by Thika United’s Kepha Aswani who has ten thus far and Rama Salim of Gor Mahia is tied with Ulinzi Stars’ Evans Amuoka on eight.
