The 2009 Tusker Premier League (TPL) champions Sofapaka will be without the services of their striker John Wamalwa Baraza in the Sunday 4 November league match against KCB at the Nairobi City Stadium.
The veteran forward lost his daughter Celine last week and according to the Sofapaka team manager Jacques Roberto, the club felt it wise to give the striker extended time off to be with his family.
Will cope
Speaking to futaa.com, Roberto said with Bob Mugalia back to full fitness and Robert Binja also available the team will just cope without Baraza who is also the premier league top scorer.
-Baraza will not be part of the team in the weekend game, he is bereaved and so we decided to allow him time with his family. He is not yet back though spiritually we are with him at this hard moment.
Goal hunt
-For the weekend game we could slot it Bob to lead the goal hunt while Binja’s availability also adds to the offensive options, so all is fine in his absence, he said.
Baraza has scored 17 goals in the league this season.
