Former SoNy Sugar FC Coach Francis Baraza was shocked by Tusker’s sacking of Coach Sammy Pamzo Omollo.
Omollo together with his team manager Neville Pudo were shown the door after a string of poor results.
According to the former Harambee Stars assistant coach, the reigning Kenyan Premier League champions acted too hastily in sacking the coach on Wednesday.
-To me it came as a surprise. Pamzo has done a lot for the team, he led them to silverware last season and I think the board made a hurried decision to axe him, Baraza told futaa.com.
-He lost key of his players in the transfer window and as a coach I know what he’s going through. Since Tusker are still in contention, he should have been given more time to turn around their fortunes.
-The trend of sacking coaches in the KPL is alarming and that means their job security is not guaranteed at all, said the former international.
Baraza was also relieved-off his duties as SoNy coach at the end of last season.
