Former SoNy Sugar Coach Francis Baraza feels that the winner of this year’s Kenyan Premier League will be decided on the final day of the season.
Akin to last year’s race where Tusker emerged the winners on the last day of the league, this year’s race has found itself in the similar situation with any of the top five teams likely to clinch it.
Tough race
According to the former international, who won the league with the Millers in 2006, the title race is far from over.
-It is a five horse race. AFC Leopards, Sofapaka, Tusker, Ulinzi Stars and Gor Mahia are all into it. The title race is still wide open, said Baraza to futaa.com.
-But as far as I am concerned, the next three league matches will give an indication of who the champion is likely to be.
AFC’s to lose
-I understand Leopards are in a pole position to clinch the title, but for them to walk away with it; they must win all their next five matches.
-Those matches are not that way easy, but to be a champion, you must beat champions, added the former Harambee Stars deputy coach.
Leopards are currently at the top of the table, 11 points ahead of fifth placed Gor.
