Bandari proved their worth at the hands of visiting AFC Leopards by holding the Tusker Premier League giants to a 1-1 draw, in a friendly match played on Saturday 13 October, at a packed Mbaraki Stadium.
The hosts dominated the early stages of the match, creating many scoring chances but failed to convert them into goals.
However, their efforts were rewarded in the 44th minute thanks to Naftali Tevulu’s strike, putting Rashid Shedu’s men in front.
On resumption, Leopards produced a spirited fight-back against the Division One side, and with 15 minutes to go, Tanzanian international defender Idrissa Rajab leveled the score.
Both teams were using the encounter to prepare for their next league matches.
Leopards are currently third on the TPL table while Bandari are sitting at the top of the Eastern Zone League.
