Mombasa based side Bandari is now two points away from being confirmed as promoted to the Kenyan Premier League for the 2013 season.
Top flight
Bandari hit the 73 point mark after a round 34 Division One Zone A game on Saturday 27 October 2012 after seeing off Congo JMJ United 2-0 in a game played at the Mbaraki Sports ground from 1500hrs.
Two goals in as many minutes were enough to keep the side unbeaten at home and take them closer to an immediate bounce back to the top flight from where they were relegated at the close of the 2011 season.
Early goals from John Ngugi Macharia and former KCB midfielder were enough to earn the dockers all three points.
Diving
On six minutes, Ngugi chested down a cross, beat two markers before sending a shot past a diving Congo keeper to the net at the far post for the first goal.
Two minutes later, Ngugi delivered a cross for Okoth from the left and the midfielder, who was returning from injury, went up to meet the delivery with a header to hand his side the second and final goal of the evening.
Promotion challengers
With three games to go, Bandari has an eight point lead over promotion challengers Bidco United and nine ahead of third placed Mahakama FC.
With a win from Green Berets in their next game, Bandari will be home and dry and through to the top flight.
However, should Bidco drop any points in their round 35 game on Sunday 28 October against KRA, and Mahakama drop any points in their next game, then Bandari will be promoted to the top flight even before taking on Green Berets on Sunday 4 November.
