The South African national team Bafana Bafana is set to take on their Kenyan counterparts Harambee Stars in one of their international friendly matches as they prepare for the 2013 African Cup of Nations.
Experience
One of the nine newly called up players, Orlando Pirates’ midfielder Matthews Oupa Manyisa says the friendly match, which will come four days after 1996 African champions face off with Poland in Warsaw will be of much importance to the players as far as experience is concerned.
The player, who will be making a return to the team after omission in the recent friendly matches against Brazil and Mozambique, told soccerladuma.co.za that the matches will also give the players a picture of what they will encounter at the AFCON tournament next year.
Different style
-These friendly games will be a good experience for the players. We need to play different teams since that is what will happen in AFCON. We need to play different oppositions because we need to know different styles of play from our opponents.
-It is good to play both in Europe and Africa and as a player I am glad to be back in the team. We all want to represent our country, he said.
