Azam FC assistant Coach Daniel Kali Ongala is confident that his team will take down Tusker in the finals of the Mapinduzi Cup set for play on Saturday 12 January 2013, at the Amaan Stadium in Zanzibar.
Azam, which has defender Jockins Atudo and midfielder Humphrey Mieno as well as assistant Coach Ibrahim Shikanda in its ranks, made the finals of the event after taking down Tanzanian Champions Simba SC in the semifinals.
Tusker, on their part, felled Zanzibar side Miembeni FC in the other semifinal to advance to the finals.
Earlier, Ongala had expressed excitement at not meeting Tusker in the penultimate round, but now they have to get past the Kenyan Champions to bag the title.
-It will indeed be a very tough match because as you have so far seen, Tusker is a very strong team, with all its departments being well equipped. However, we also have a good team and will fight to the end when we meet tomorrow, Ongala told Bin Zubeiry.
Ongala also urged football fans from Zanzibar to turn up in droves and give them the necessary push to take the trophy.
-Being a Tanzanian team, we represent Zanzibar and that is why we are urging fans from the island to come out in large numbers and edge us on, in a bid to ensure that the title remains at home.
The finals will be played at the Amaan Stadium in Zanzibar.
