Awoko: Kimanzi and Co. not to blame

George Owoko

Football Kenya Federation has been asked to focus on greater issues that could be the cause of the national Team’s dwindling performance in the past.

According to George Awoko who is the current Ambira High School coach, frequent firing and hiring of coaches can never be a solution to the poor performance.

Problem beneath

-There is definitely a bigger problem to the issue than just the coaches and that is evident from the Stars’ history of changing the coaches.

-Football Kenya Federation barely has respect for our local coaches and they like heaping blame on them when things do not work out.

-The federation should put its house in order first and get to the bottom of the problem rather than push the blame.

Kimanzi was moved from his Harambee Stars position to an acting capacity as technical director with the former holder of the position Patrick Naggi being moved to Education Officer’s post.

The changes came after Harambee Stars’ recent poor run in their AFCON and World Cup qualifier campaigns.
