Dennis Oliech’s AJ Auxerre beat host Clermont 2-1 in a French Ligue 2 tie played on Friday 21 December 2012 at the Gabriel Montpied Stadium.
The game was one of eight second tier sides played in the second tier across different venues in France.
After a barren first half, Cameroonian striker Paul-Georges Ntep sent visiting Auxerre a goal up with three minutes left to the hour mark.
The host drew the game level with 11 minutes to the end through 24 year old French striker Mana Dembele.
His goal was however not enough as Christopher Jullien scored a winner for Auxerre three minutes after.
With three new points, Auxerre improved its season haul to 24 points from 19 rounds to remain 11th in the 20-team log. Clermont is four positions back at 15th with 21 points.
Both teams trail leaders Nantes who with 36 points have three points on second placed Monaco with a game in hand.
Kenya’s alpha striker was not part of the Auxerre squad for the game.
