Nairobi City Stars’ tricky midfielder David Kenga Kingatua is ruled out of the Kawangware based side’s Kenyan Premier League (KPL) match against Chemelil Sugar on Sunday 22 April after the late sending off in his team’s barren draw with Ulinzi Stars in their last game.
Short options
His absence leaves the team at the base of the 16-team log short of options considering the player has featured in a majority of the team’s matches this season, which makes the team’s dependable left back Peter Ashango rue the loss.
Ashango however, believes despite the key player’s absence the team has to go out and stake a serious claim for three points and he points to the comfort that the squad is big and has enough replacements.
Will be missed
-We will miss Kingatua, no question about it, because he is a big player for us and can create something for the team if and when he features. So it is a big blow for us and also considering he got sent off in the final minutes of the game. It is very disheartening but there is nothing we can do.
-Maybe we just have to go out and win the game for him. We definitely have good replacements in his absence and my hope is that we secure the three vital points, Ashango told futaa.com.
The venue for the match was shifted to Hope Center from the Nyayo National Stadium and it will kick off at 1500hrs.
