While the debate rages on whether he was onside or offside, Mikel Arteta remains the hero for the day as Arsenal struggled to a 1-0 win over QPR in a Premier League clash on Saturday at the Emirates.
Late goal
The late goal from Arteta ended some determined resistance from Queens Park Rangers as Arsenal finally returned to winning ways after shock defeats in the hands of Norwich City and Schalke 04 in the Champions League.
Arteta struck from close range after 84 minutes soon after Rangers' Stephane Mbia had been sent off for a needless rash tackle on Vermaelen.
Apart from the three points that has seen Arsenal moved into fourth place, Coach Arsene Wenger will be pleased to welcome back French man, Bacary Sagna and Jack Wilshere to his line up.
For QPR the disappointment continues as they remain without a win in their opening nine league games and are firmly rooted at the bottom of the EPL table.
