On Sunday 2 March, a section of UK media reported that a consortium from the Middle East had requested to meet with American Billionare Stan Kroenke, who owns 66.7% of the English Premier League side Arsenal, with an aim of placing a 1.5-billion-pound ($2.25-billion) for his share.
In quick response, Arsenal have trashed the reports, saying that Kroenke is with the team for the long haul.
No such plans
-Stan Kroenke is committed to Arsenal for the long term and has no intention of selling his stake, Arsenal communications director Mark Gonnella told Reuters.
-There has been no contact from any potential investors.
Arsenal have not won a trophy since 2005 and are under pressure by fans who find the decision by the club to sell its finest players irresponsible.
