Rennes defender Onyekachi Apam is eager to be back in the Super Eagles after a long absence.
The former Enugu Rangers defender has been blighted with injury for nearly two years which has seen him sidelined but returned to action few weeks ago.
Tough
He had since become a regular for his French club and after his involvment in last weekend's 2-1 win over champions Montpellier, Apam is now determined to be back in the international stage.
- It has been a very tough period for me but thank God I'm back. The feeling is great and I'm ready to be involved regularly for my club as well as my country, he said.
Options
Apam's blushes was saved in the game with his compatriot John Utaka as he conceded a penalty which led to the goal scored by Montpellier but Rennes hang on to claim full points at Stade de la Route de Lorient.
Apam featured for Nigeria at the 2010 Nations Cup in Angola and with Nigeria short of options at the rear, he may well forced his way to the team for South Africa in January.
