Gor Mahia defender Ivan Anguyo who helped his team to a 1 – 0 win over SoNy Sugar in the Tusker Premier League (TPL) encounter on Sunday 9 September admitted that the game was not a walk in the park.
Fighting spirit
The lanky Ugandan scored the all important goal in the 81st minute when SoNy seemed to be strolling to a hard fought barren draw and speaking after the game at the Nairobi City Stadium Anguyo said they kept a fighting spirit and in the end got rewarded.
-The game was not very easy; SoNy Sugar always gives us a hard time and today was no different but we knew that if we kept fighting we would win the game so our commitment won it for us and it is always special when you win no matter the team you face, he said.
Title hopes
With the win Gor Mahia went second on the log with 43 points, just two adrift of AFC Leopards who they play next and Anguyo believes Gor Mahia can win the league title if they keep the fight.
-We have the belief. We can do it, though at the moment we have to take each game at a time, he added.
