Ulinzi Stars’ forward Evans Amwoka, he who was named the man of the match as his side handed Western Stima a 1-0 defeat in their Saturday 14 July Kenyan Premier League match, says that it is his hope to take home the golden boot, at the end of the current season.
To this end, he first intends to completely thin the gap between him and current leader John Baraza, currently standing at five goals [Baraza has scored 14 and Amwoka nine].
-It is a catching up story, I say so because he was eight
goals away but I am catching up-I am definitely thinking about the golden boot,
said Amwoka.
Ambition
Amwoka also said that his side is now focused on winning the trophy they lost at the end of the 2011 season.
-We began slowly and we are catching up.
-I think our usual competitors, the Gor Mahia, AFC Leopards, Sofapaka are shocked because we started almost at the bottom and we are now in the top three.
Performance
Ulinzi currently have 33 points, three behind second-placed Tusker FC and four behind leaders AFC Leopards.
