Recently,
Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Sub branch and Mundika High were up in arms as striker
Frederick Otieno went AWOL.
Confirmed to me
But days later, the striker is said to have been found from exactly where they thought he was – Kakamega High School even after the school denying any knowledge of him.
Speaking to futaa.com, William Musumba, the Chair of Busia Sub Branch confirms to have found the player.
-I got a call from a Kakamega High player Sam Murage whom I have to thank, as he confirmed to me that Frederick was indeed at the school.
‘Disappeared’
-It surprises me why the school’s Coach (Brendan Mwinamo) said that they never heard of the player yet he was at the school (Kakamega High). That is being insincere as we are also aware that two other players from Mukumu and Misikhu under the same circumstances as Otieno joined the side
-They promised the boy free education for the rest of his stay at the school and that is the reason why he took off to join them
Otieno is said to have ‘disappeared’ upon arriving with the Western Boys team soon after arriving from Mombasa at the conclusion of the Copa Coca Cola Nationals.
Finally win it
But besides getting on Kakamega High for their move on Otieno, Musumba wishes them well at the ongoing National School games and hopes that they can emerge winners.
-They are our representatives and I sincerely hope that they can make it to the finals and finally win it, he concluded
Kakamega High kicked off their campaign on a high winning their Tuesday 7 August opener against Kibirichia of Eastern 3-1.
