AllStars given a reality check

Nakuru AllStars failed to go level on points with the joint Division One [Western Zone] League leaders Kakamega Homeboyz and Agrochemicals after they lost 3-2 to their hosts GFC 105, on Sunday 2 September.

After a barren first half, former Kenyan international defender Noah Abich broke the dead-lock in the 68th minute but their lead was short lived, as Duke Abuya headed home in the 70th minute.

Action packed half

Three minutes later, Kevin Isolio extended the lead for GFC from the spot after Arthur Weyula handled the ball inside the box.

However, former Sofapaka midfielder Titus Mulama leveled the score in the 77th minute with a spectacular header before the referee awarded the hosts a controversial penalty after Abich fouled Geoffrey Osome in the area.

Penalties

Sammy Kiptoo stepped-up and scored the resulting penalty to give AllStars a reality check.

After the match, GFC moved up to the ninth slot on the log, 25 points below fourth placed AllStars.
