Ahead of a highly publicized tie between AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia on Saturday 22 September 2012, legendary midfielder Allan Thigo threw his weight behind Gor by predicting a 2-0 win.
They recovered
Gor won yes, 2-1 though, and as he revisit is the happenings on that Saturday, he talks of what he thinks ails Leopards as a team
-I had expected a win for Gor and sure enough they got it. After their first two goals, Leopards panicked and lacked ideas though they recovered to play a good game in the second half
-They had been at the top of the league for a long time and you could see they were pressured, just as I had thought before the game
Brings about egos
-From what I see with the team (Leopards) the players lack discipline and that is why their performance is dwindling.
-They have big name players and this brings about egos
-Until the team gets a way of managing this, they will continue to perform badly
Disciplinarian
-Right from training the team needs to get a disciplinarian. This is what used to happen at Gor but when the new Coach came (Zdravko Logarusic) in, the players became disciplined and now you can see how the team has been performing lately.
After the Saturday win over Leopards, Gor went top of the log with 46 points but later on Sunday 23 September the team dropped to second after Tusker saw off Karuturi Sport at Oserian.
Leopards are currently third with 45 points.
