Sudanese club Al Ahly faltered in their Play Off stage of the Confederations Cup when they faced Cameroon side Cotonsport De Garoua away on 1 July 2012.
Slim loss
The Sudan representatives lost a solitary goal at the Stade Omnisport Roumdé Adjia to set the stage for a grueling battle in the repeat leg after a fortnight in Sudan.
To reach this stage, Al Ahly saw off East African representatives and Tanzania champions Simba SC on penalties after overturning a 3-0 loss away in Tanzania to settle for a 3-3 draw.
The return leg will now be played in Sudan on Friday 13 July 2012 as the clubseye the group stages of the prestigious competition.
Morocco’s Maghreb As De Fès are the CAF Confederations Cup defending Champions. They saw off Club Africain in the finals played in December last year.
