The Saturday 2 March incident that saw five players issued with red-cards as AC Ajaccio took on Bastia in a French Ligue I match is continuing to elicit heated responses from the parties involved.
In the match, chaos arose after Dennis Oliech was handed his marching orders as he made a dash for goal.
This call did not go down well with other Ajaccio players and in the ensuing commotion, three other players were red-carded, as fans stirred a storm of their own.
Observation
Speaking of the incident, Ajaccio’s President Alain Orsoni said that he was disappointed by how Bastia’s supporters conducted themselves.
-I'm torn between disgust, fear and amazement. I know the chaos could have been orchestrated by a group of idiots and mentally retarded individuals, Orsoni told maxifoot.
-But here we are talking of a group of 600 people! It reached a climax. I am thinking about filing a complaint.
Result
The match ended on a 1-0 scoreline, in favour of hosts Bastia.
