AFC urged to protest over Muho-Gor venue shift

AFC

Former AFC Leopards Secretary General Duncan Angode has urged the third placed Tusker Premier League side to file an official protest over the change in venue of Muhoroni Youth’s match against Gor Mahia.

This comes just a few hours after the match scheduled for Sunday (November 4) was shifted by the hosts [Muhoroni] from Nyayo National Stadium to City Stadium.

Alternative venue

With two matches two ago and the top three teams [Gor, Tusker and AFC] separated by only one point, Angode feels it will be unfair to the other teams as City is considered as Gor’s registered home-ground.

According to the former official, Muhoroni should seek for an alternative venue.

-How can Gor be hosted at their own home ground? That is unacceptable. All teams in the league have alternative grounds; we played them at Afraha, why can’t they host Gor in Nakuru?

Fair playing field

-If that’s impossible, the organizers should shift the Tusker-Western Stima at Kasarani with the one at City.

-I urge AFC and Tusker officials to file an official appeal to the concerned bodies. The organizers should intervene and provide a fair playing ground for all teams, said Angode to futaa.com.

Leopards are scheduled to face Mathare United on Saturday in Mumias as Tusker play host to Stima the following day at MISC, Kasarani.
