AFC squad to Tanzania named

AFC Leopards head coach Jan Koops has released a strong 18-man squad for their scheduled friendly matches in Tanzania.

The team which will travel to Arusha on Friday 17 August will clash against Simba SC, on Sunday 19 at Abeid Karume Stadium before facing Yanga, on Wednesday 22, at Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium.

Injury blow 

Speaking to futaa.com, Koops said that due to injury, they have been forced to drop Victor Ochieng’.

-Ochieng’ has not recuperated from the injury he suffered against Karaturi; we cannot carry an injured player, he said.

The current Kenyan Premier League leaders are set to return back in the county, on Thursday 23 August.

Squad

Goalkeepers: Patrick Matasi, Barnabas Tiema 

Defenders: Martin Imbalambala, Eric Masika, Idrissa Rajab, Edwin Wafula, Jonas Nahimana, Abbassi Kiwaalabye and Amon Muchiri. 

Midfielders: Bernard Mangoli, Laurent Tumba, Paul Were, Charles Okwemba and Floribert Tambwe.

Strikers: Jimmy Bageya, Allan Wanga, Oscar Kadenge and Mike Barasa.
