Tusker Premier League (TPL) giants AFC Leopards will miss the services of newly signed midfielder Patillah Omotto in the upcoming match against Nairobi City Stars on Sunday 5 May.
The midfielder is just recovering from a groin injury picked at a past training session and coach Luc Eymael says though he is back in training he is not keen to rush him back to action and confirmed he will be out of the game at the Nairobi City Stadium.
Grow as a player
Eymael reiterated his determination to help the midfielder, who is on loan from Kariobangi Sharks, grow as a player as the key reason he wants him to heal fully before getting play time.
-We are preparing well for the game at the weekend and we will have all players available except for Omotto; he had a groin injury but is just returning to training. He trained with the rest on Thursday and today but he will not play on Sunday.
-He looks fit but I want to help him grow well as a player; he is young and has a great future so I will not rush him to action only to regret later. He needs time and probably in the next game after Sunday’s he will be ready, the coach told futaa.com.
Omotto was an outstanding performer in the team’s last match, against Tusker, winning himself a man of the match recognition thereafter.
