AFC Leopards cancel Tanzania trip

Ndayisaba
AFC Leopards have canceled their forthcoming trip to Tanzania.

Set to travel to the neighbouring country for a friendly match tilt with Dar es Salaam giants Yanga and Simba, the club has cancelled the trip due to an apparent lack of venue.

According to a top Leopards official, the venue for their Sunday 19 August 2012 clash with Simba FC, the Sheikh Abeid Karume Stadium in Arusha will be unavailable, thus the cancellation.

No trip

- We are not going to Tanzania over the weekend.

- The venue for the proposed clash with Simba SC on Sunday has been booked for a state function and is thus unavailable.

- Thus we do not see the need to go all the way there and play just one match. We have decided to stay put, Organising Secretary Timothy Lilumbi told Futaa.com.

Two matches

Leopards were due to play Simba in Arusha on Sunday 19 and then Yanga three days later (22 August) in Dar es Salaam.
