Admiral handed easy points by Celtic

.

After their opponents Kibera Celtic failed to honour their Saturday 6 October Division One [Eastern Zone] match, Admiral FC were handed a walkover.

Though the three points helped Admiral inch towards the top, the club’s Technical Director Aref Baghazally says they would have appreciated a fought-for win.

-Walkovers are not nearly as exciting as genuine wins. There is also a chance that we could have scored many more goals than the two we were awarded, Baghazally told Futaa.com.

Appeal

Baghazally also made a call to the teams in the league to attend matches, as this serves to make the league more competitive.

-We were at the venue on time and even held the pre-match meeting, only for Celtic not to show up.

-This demoralized us to some extent as we had spent a whole week preparing for the match.

Standings

After the match, Admiral, with 55 points are ranked fifth in the Zone. They are separated from fourth-placed Mahakama by a goal difference.
