Sofapaka defender Abdulatif Achkobe Omar has been accused of walking out on the team and staying away without permission for over a month, claims he strongly refutes.
Four days
The left back, signed from Thika United two seasons ago, informed futaa.com that he has missed only four days of training since he had family problems and not a month as reported by the club’s team manager Jacques Roberto.
A dismayed Abdulatif said his dedication for the club is not in doubt the allegations were not made in good light and once again reiterated his decision to leave the club when his contract ends at the end of the current campaign.
Family issues
-I was so disappointed at the reports – the real situation is that I have missed training for four days only, I trained with the team for the whole of last week then I had some family problems that I had to take time off to solve’ he told futaa.com.
-I own up to the fact that I didn’t communicate it well to the team hierarchy but it is so bad for them to say I have been away for a month. I have never had disciplinary issues at the team; all along I have been a loyal soldier to Sofapaka, why am I getting this for my troubles?
Wrong picture
-I thought for the dedication I have for my team respect is what I should get but all this is not good for my image and many other teams interested in my services could get the wrong picture of me, he lamented.
