Congo JMJ United slumped to a 1 – 2 loss at the Hope Centre grounds in their FKF Division One Zone A league clash with Ligi Ndogo in a midweek encounter played on Wednesday 10 October.
Kenya U-20 international Timothy Otieno got the goal for Congo United on 36 minutes but Ligi hit back with goals from Edwin Wanjala to complete a comeback.
In the aftermath of the loss, the team’s coach Shabaan Abdalla, speaking to futaa.com lauded both sides for a fine display and Ligi Ndogo for a deserved victory but admitted his team’s chances of getting something from the encounter were badly dented by the 20th minute red card shown to Isa Ajiga.
-I am happy with the way we played though we were hard done by an early red card (on Isa Ajiga); it distorted our game plan and it was always hard for us playing with a man less. They (Ligi) played well and their win was genuine, he said.
Despite the loss, Congo United remained in ninth place on the log but will drop a place lower if the tenth placed side MOYAS, avoid defeat in their next match.
