Kisumu poly ready for Sakata Ball Nyanza regional?s

Beginning Saturday June 4, 12 teams – eight boys and four girls’ teams will meet at the Kisumu Polytechnic for Safaricom’s Sakata Ball Nyanza Regional finals.

For the boys and girls winner, it will be an express trip for the National finals to be played at the City Stadium in August 6th and 7th.

For the boys, the finalist have been drawn from each of the eight zones; Nyamira, Kisii, Migori, Homabay, Nyakach, Muhoroni, Siaya and Kisumu.

For the girls each two zones produced a team with Suba Lakers being bi-zonal winners for Homabay/Migori, Bonchari Lioness from Kisii/Nyamira, Galacticos Youth Academy from Kisumu/Siaya and Victoria FC from Nyakach/Muhoroni.

Kicking off the games at 0900 hrs on Saturday morning will be Suba Lakers from Rusinga taking of Galacticos with the next game pitting Victoria FC against Bonchari Lioness from Kisii.

As the two teams chase the winners’ purse of Kshs. 50,000 in the girls category at 0230 hrs, two boys quarterfinals will take place in between with the favored home team Kisumu Youth Olympic Centre (KYOC) hosting St. George’s from Siaya from 1100 hrs.

Thereafter Migori Youth will take on Ahero Rangers in the second boys quarterfinals.

Sunday will see the quarter finals for boys conclude. The semis will then take place and thereafter the boys final beginning at 1500 hrs.
