Gor Mahia forward Dan Sserunkuma has been lauded yet again this time from his youth coach back in Uganda George Awoko who termed him as a hardworking and talented player.
Speaking to futaa.com, Awoko who is the current Chebuyusi High School coach said that the player has always shown great attacking quality since his young days.
-When he was small, the young man had the same fighting spirit and he has indeed done me proud growing to be a great striker.
-He promised me the title and it seems he may deliver that this season with Gor Mahia. I wish him all the best in that as well.
Awoko coached both Sserunkuma and AFC’s Jimmy Bageya [2001 to 2004] at a youth club in Uganda [Tiger Young FC] before it changed names to Vegetarian Youth project.
Sserunkuma hit a brace on Saturday in the Mashemeji derby to hand his side Gor Mahia a 2-1 win over arch rivals AFC Leopards at the City Stadium.
