Stories are doing the rounds that Bob Mugalia will leave Sofapaka at the end of the season.
Apparently, the rumour mill is rife that he will join AFC Leopards at the turn of the year.
Mugalia is a Harambee Stars forward who rose to fame after Sofapaka said he is worth Ksh 10 million last year when Gor Mahia apparently showed interest in his services.
He is of Congolese heritage, but now has a Kenyan passport and his hobbies are dancing Lingala at Simmers restaurant in Nairobi.
The short bio ends there.
His hair
Apart from that, the best I can say of Mugalia is his hair and the way he treats it.
If he used most of his energies playing the game more than touching his hair, he would be at Cristiano Ronaldo's level.
Jokes aside.
He is not a bad striker and the season before this, he scored a glut of goals.
He is versatile and has previously played in several positions in the forward line, both at the Harambee Stars and club level.
Good enough
If he does indeed move away from Sofapaka, do you think it will be worth taking a punt on him at AFC Leopards?
He is not a bad player, but would you rate him as very good?
I say so because at Leopards we are looking for a striker at the level or better than what we currently have to really lift the squad.
Allan Wanga, Mike Baraza, Jimmy Bageya and Victor Ochieng are our current set of strikers....
Would Mugalia get a starting place above those guys?
Big game
Mike Baraza and Wanga are big game players.. While in truth, Bageya and Ochieng can be improved on, if we get the right person to do so.
Can Mugalia fill that third striker's place?
I think he can, he is versatile enough and again, he accepts that Leopards is a big club. There is no guarantee that he will play anyway, just like it is at Sofa.
However, will he be good enough for Leopards? Can he come and lift the club?
Will he get us a winning goal in an important game, is he capable of being a hero??
Worth a punt
I think Mugalia would be a worthwhile signing, but not one that we should put our hopes as high as the sky for.
Mugalia is a good player.. but not what would make me start jumping in my boots.
Worth a try at Leopards?? Maybe, what do you think??
