Blog: What if fans won matches....

Gor fans
Imagine football fans winning a match or a team winning or losing due to the number of fans in attendance. I know in some way, fans do win a game by motivating players, but here I mean literally. If fans were counted after the final whistle, the team with majority of fans, or reaches a certain number of fans, are awarded two points. Regardless of the end result. Whether they drew, lost or won.

In the Tusker Premier League, bonus points, incase of fans surpassing a certain number, would go to AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia. Its no rocket
science and I don't live in denial, these two clubs have the largest fan base. In case of bonus points being awarded according to majority fans in attendance, any team playing against Gor or AFC, would get the points due to the opponents.

These clubs rarely support one another. So I know if Sofapaka is playing Gor Mahia, AFC fans will be behind Sofapaka, UNLESS, a Sofapaka win sees them open a big point gap. We saw it when Tusker hosted AFC, instead of Gor fans praying for a draw, they wanted AFC to lose.

In a match pitting let's say Oserian and Muhoroni, the set number of fans to earn their team, bonus points, I have a feeling would not be
reached. Rewind to the Sofapaka- Tusker match. 72 fans. Imagine if the fans number was set at just 250 for one team.

AFC-Gor champions

If fans can win trophies literally, AFC and Gor Mahia would be the winners year in year out. Arsenal football club in the English Premier League would not have gone for Seven years trophyless. England as a country I bet would be the defending champions of every cup. From World cup, to Euro, to the Olympics.

You got to give it to the English fans led by the media. They are always positive, even when common sense and statistics say otherwise.

Kenya would continue missing in the AFCON leave alone win it. This is simply because of politics. Not just from politicians but from the fans.
This is because we have a number of fanatics. They want their players to be called in the National Team rather than performers forgetting
that we can only have a maximum of 23 players.

Ask a RANDOM football fan who should be in the squad to play in the CECAFA cup and you will get the starting eleven of a team. I've done it and only Mike Baraza of AFC Leopards featured in the starting XI. Players from other teams were benched.

If the coach drops well known players, Kenyans go berserk. Blaming the coach for the loss in the game Harambee Stars WILL play. Thats Kenya for you.

If fans won matches, Tusker would not be the defending champions. Nor Ulinzi the year before. Not even Sofapaka and Mathare prior to Ulinzi winning.

Where would Tusker be?

Clubs like Gor and AFC coaches would never lose their jobs because even if the players and coach fails to deliver, the fans am sure would.

In the EPL, I would not mind if fans won matches. My beloved Arsenal, I believe would not be trophyless. In the TPL, it is good that fans NEVER win a game.

Otherwise my beloved Tusker will not even smell the top 8, but to all true football fans I appreciate you regardless.
